If you’ve ever sat down to write a blog post for your website or needed to create a sales page for a new service or product, but just couldn’t even get the first words down, then you need to give Chat GPT a try!
And if you haven’t yet heard of Chat GPT (it’s been the talk of the internet the past several weeks), I am here to give you an introduction and summarize how it can help you generate high-quality content for your website quickly and efficiently.
What exactly IS Chat GPT anyway?
Chat GPT, which stands for “Generative Pre-trained Transformer 3,” is an artificial intelligence language model that has been trained on a massive amount of text data. This training enables Chat GPT to generate human-like responses to natural language inputs, making it an excellent tool for creating website content.
I’ve tested it out with a few different content pieces that I needed to create, and I was pretty impressed with the results right out of the gate. Things do need a bit of tweaking to give it your own special touch, and customize it to suit your specific needs, but this will give you a lot of content to start with, so you don’t have to sit there scratching your head trying to pencil out a few meager words.
Chat GPT is currently free to use, however its popularity is growing very quickly, so it is unavailable at times. They do offer a paid upgrade plan, which is currently priced at $20/month, and provides availability when demand is high.
I have also noticed that access seems to be different with different browsers. I initially signed up using Firefox, so I most often have access with that browser during peak times. If I try to use Chrome, it tells me that demand is high, try again later, almost 100% of the time.
Here are some examples of the content I’ve created:

Pretty amazing for such a quick and simple prompt, don’t you think?
Of course I edited and tweaked it to sound more like me and broke it up into various content sections on the page, but it gave me so much good material to start with, that it really sped up the process.
Here’s another example:
I wanted Chat GPT to revise a sentence for me, but I didn’t prompt it correctly. I love how it answers as if it were a person, though!
And here is what was delivered when I asked Chat GPT to help me write a Facebook post to promote my equine photography in a local Facebook group (it even inserted the icons):
If you want to give Chat GPT a try, here are some tips to help you get the most out of it (full disclosure, Chat GPT gave me a lot of this content that I then edited accordingly)!
Define your target audience and goals
Before you start using Chat GPT to generate content, it’s essential to define your target audience and goals. Who is your website’s target audience, and what are their interests, needs, and pain points? What are your website’s goals, such as increasing traffic, improving engagement, or generating leads? Once you have a clear understanding of your target audience and goals, you can use Chat GPT to generate content that resonates with your audience and helps you achieve those goals.
Choose the right prompts
To use Chat GPT, you need to provide it with prompts, which are starting points for generating text. The quality of your prompts will directly impact the quality of the content generated by Chat GPT. Therefore, it’s essential to choose prompts that are specific, relevant, and well-defined.
For example, if you want to create content about “digital marketing strategies for horse businesses,” a good prompt could be “What are the top digital marketing strategies for equine or horse related businesses?”
Fine-tune Chat GPT
While Chat GPT is pre-trained on a massive amount of text data, it may not always generate content that meets your specific needs. Therefore, it’s a good idea to fine-tune Chat GPT on your specific topic and target audience. Fine-tuning involves training Chat GPT on a smaller dataset of text that is specific to your topic and audience. This process can help Chat GPT generate more relevant and accurate content for users in the future.
Review and edit generated content
Even though Chat GPT can generate high-quality content, it’s still important to review and edit the content to ensure it meets your standards and your needs. Review the content for accuracy, relevance, readability, and tone. Edit the content to make it more engaging, informative, and SEO-friendly. You can also add your own voice and style to the content to make it more unique and authentic.
Use Chat GPT strategically & wisely
Finally, it’s essential to use Chat GPT strategically to create high-quality content that engages your audience and achieves your goals. Chat GPT can be an excellent tool for generating blog posts, social media updates, product descriptions, and other types of content. However, it’s important to balance the use of Chat GPT with other content creation strategies, such as original research, expert interviews, and user-generated content.
What else can Chat GPT help you write?
- SEO page title tags and descriptions
- Bulleted lists (from summarized articles)
- Email Newsletters
- Social media posts
In conclusion, I would only add that while this can be a HUGE time saver and benefit for business owners, nothing can take the place of our unique and personal touches on our content, NOR can it replace a really skilled copywriter. All the technology and modern conveniences that are available to us, have made us a largely very lazy population, in my opinion. I’m reminded of when the TV remote control came out, and now no one had to get out of their chair to change the channel. Just as our bodies are no longer as active as we once were, don’t make the mistake of letting your brain atrophy and letting AI do all the work for you.
